The Team
Apprenticeships are now a solid career choice for many young people looking for work in the UK who don’t wish to carry on into higher education. Apprenticeships offer the chance to learn valuable, practical skills alongside work-based learning programmes and the opportunity to earn a real wage while doing it.
Over 900,000 people were participating in an apprenticeship in 2016/17, and a handful of those were doing their apprenticeship with Harrison Spinks. Currently we have Stephen Carr and Robert Foley working on the mattress line and Luke Holmes and Jessica Scorah work in divans and headboards learning our time-honoured methods of hand crafting our luxury mattresses and beds.
Daniel Beilby, Adrian Egan and Kane Giles are with Harrison Spinks as apprentice engineers, who help ensure our innovative, industry leading spring machines and other machinery remains running at peak condition. In our IT department we have Zak Kennedy who joined Harrison Spinks as an IT apprentice, helping our computing systems to run smoothly and fix any issues.
We caught up with Luke, Jess, Robert and Stephen to find out how they’re getting on with their apprenticeships and what they enjoy most about working at Harrison Spinks. Click here to watch our video.
