The led to the invention of the double-tiered spring system back in 1924 and, more recently, to Somnus investing in a wire-drawing facility as its factory in Leeds. Here, steel rods are drawn into a range of finer wires in order to create springs that are lighter but more durable. The result? We can create layers of small, light, responsive springs, with up to 4,000 springs each.
